Your premise is so inherently flawed. Are you positing that only white people choose to ignore the news from time to time? Also problematic: the implicit notion, in your piece, that news is not problematic in itself. The news we receive is so divisive, insincere, and dogmatic that many of us tune out due to frustration and fatigue, not because we're racist or privileged. Would also challenge you to define White Privilege as that seems to be missing as well.
