This concept feels deeply intuitive, but it’s nice to be verified by science. An issue I’ve noticed just anecdotally is that parents do everything for their children, their children never have to work for anything, and thereby never learn that work produces happiness. Then those children magically grow into dissatisfied, under-performing adults who either stay in that unhappy place or have some life-altering revelation that work feels good. Learning this at a young age has to be advantageous.
